Coquihalla – A special weather statement was announced early Saturday morning that is now in effect for:

  • Coquihalla Highway – Hope to Merritt

High elevation snowfall expected late this evening and on Sunday with amounts up to 15 cm.

After a relatively mild day today, an intense cold front will cross the B.C. interior on Sunday. Snow will begin tonight with snow levels near the passes, so only the highest elevations will receive snow. Blustery winds are also expected to give reduced visibilities at times in blowing snow.

Snow will taper off late Sunday afternoon as the front passes, and snow levels will drop quickly to the valley bottoms by Sunday evening.

Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.

Road conditions are available at www.drivebc.ca.
