North Harbour phase one sales begin summer 2021

Concert Properties is preparing to launch sales of North Harbour this summer, their upcoming waterfront community in North Vancouver, formerly known as the Harbourside Lands.

The new community will be built on the site of a former lumber mill. Concert has owned the 12-acre, waterfront property since 1995 and rezoned it approximately eight years ago for residential use.

Phase one of North Harbour will be located on the east side of the property, and will consist of four buildings: three market condominium buildings and one rental building with a total of approximately 400 units. An L-shaped building on the eastern portion of the site will be the first to go on sale this summer.

Brian McCauley, President and CEO of Concert Properties, says the waterfront property is extremely unique on the North Shore.

“To have a continuous piece of property on the waterfront, anywhere on the North Shore, is very rare. One of the things that’s a hidden gem, is that it’s very well-connected to the hub at Lonsdale Quay via a short walk along the Spirit Trail to the Seabus, and the shops and restaurants at Lower Lonsdale.”

He says that North Harbour will be an example of sustainability in residential development, achieving LEED Gold, Fitwel, as well as STEP 3 and 4 certifications under the BC Energy Step Code.

“We are striving to achieve high levels of sustainability for the community, and are doing everything we can to create a low-carbon community in this location.”

The architecture, by Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership Architects, consists low to mid-rise buildings, something that will set the development apart from the point towers typically constructed in the Lower Mainland.

“The form of the development is different than most in Metro Vancouver. This isn’t a series of high-rise towers — this is a series of low to mid-rise buildings that are very well connected at-grade and part of the urban fabric,” says McCauley.

The entire North Harbour development will take approximately 10 to 12 years to complete, and will consist of four phases and a total of 1.2 million square feet, with approximately 1,000 homes—including seniors living—and 290,000 square feet of retail and office space.

The development was previously known as the Harbourside Lands.
