Biden Too Busy to Answer Questions about the Border (During Photo-Op at a Hardware Store)

Joe Biden has now gone the longest of any president in a century before holding a formal press conference at the beginning of his term – seven weeks and counting, for those who are keeping track. The president is too busy dealing with “historic crises,” to answer questions from reporters, explained Press Secretary Jen Psaki.

On Tuesday, the president managed to find the time for a photo-op at a D.C. hardware store that has benefited from his temporary extension of the Paycheck Protection Program, with the White House press corps dutifully in tow. But even as he smiled for the cameras at W.S. Jenks & Sons hardware store, the president was still too busy to answer reporters’ questions about the historic border crisis he found time to create in his first seven weeks in office.

Apparently, even after being assured last week by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that the massive numbers of migrants pouring across the border, an unprecedented number of whom are unaccompanied children, is a mere “challenge,” reporters still want to hear from the president himself. Well, they did, sort of. “Come on, press, you gotta go,” the president shouted back at them, before his handlers shooed them out of the store – an interesting contrast to how his administration deals with illegal aliens.

While President Biden is
still getting the kid gloves treatment from the media, we may be reaching the
point where even they cannot ignore the scope of the crisis he has created and
start demanding answers.
