Health Canada has approved Oxford-AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine on Friday morning, making it the country’s third shot that is authorized for use across the country.

The AstraZeneca vaccine follows the authorization of the Pfizer and Moderna coronavirus vaccines, both of which also require two doses.

The federal health agency has been reviewing AstraZeneca’s two-dose COVID-19 vaccine since September, according to a report from Health Canada, and said 500,000 doses could be available in the country as of March.

Health Canada officials will hold a briefing on the authorization of COVID-19 vaccines in Canada at 10 am ET on Friday morning.

More to come.
