Surrey RCMP were called shortly after 7 p.m. Friday to a home in the 19300-block of 66th Avenue.
Homicide detectives say a man found murdered in his Surrey home wasn’t known to police.
Thirty-one-year-old Adrian Golofit was found dead inside a home near 194th Street and 66th Avenue in Clayton Heights shortly after 7 p.m. Friday.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called in to assist Surrey RCMP in the case.
Golofit “had injuries indicative of homicide and IHIT was called in,” said spokesman Sgt. Frank Jang in a statement Saturday.
“The last time Golofit made contact with friends was around 8 a.m. on Feb. 11. Investigators will be working to build a timeline of Golofit’s activities from that point forward.”
Jang said the motive isn’t clear. “In cases such as this where police records about the victim are minimal, there is greater importance and urgency for friends and associates to reach out to police and offer whatever information they can.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the IHIT tip line at 1-877-551-4448, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
