A suspect has been arrested in connection with the groping of a youth in a Surrey park.
On Thursday, just before 1 p.m., two youths were at Pioneer Park in the Newton area when one was grabbed from behind by an unknown man. The youth was physically uninjured and reported the incident to police.
On Friday, police announced a 65-year-old man had been arrested for the sexual assault. The man has since been released with conditions, including he not visit Surrey schools or parks. Charges haven’t been approved and the investigation is continuing.
The man had been described as South Asian, wearing an orange turban, with a scarf around his mouth, a grey-hooded sweater, “traditional pants” and sneakers.
