Vancouver-based Westland Corp. is planning an ambitious tower development in Burnaby, across from Metrotown on Beresford Avenue.

The project site at 6450-6508 Telford Avenue, at the corner of Beresford Avenue, will soon be redeveloped into a two-tower, mixed-use project consisting of:

  • 51-storey mixed-use tower with 408 market condominiums
  • 22-storey rental apartment tower with 167 units, 41 of which will be considered “affordable rental”

The design of the two towers are defined by their unique exoskeletons, with inspiration drawn from the tulip flower, according to architects Chris Dikeakos Architects Inc. The colour scheme will consist of white and grey.

A 30′ ft. tall amenity area will be located on level 49 of the market condo tower, with two large exterior terraces on the north and south sides.

The market residential tower also includes ground-floor retail space at the corner of Telford and Beresford, topped by several levels of office space.

Parkades for the market and the rental tower will be completely separated, although adjacent to one another.

Market units will be available in a variety of formats, including studios, junior one-bedroom, one-bedroom, two-and-three-bedroom.

The market residential tower will be one of the tallest along Beresford Avenue once it’s completed, although it will soon be eclipsed by Concord Pacific’s Metrotown development, which will include B.C.’s tallest residential tower, measuring 723′.
